Inheritance

How many of you know that next month the final book in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini is coming out next month? Probably the same number of you that know that part 1 of The Hobbit is coming out December 2012, or that the movie Beastly was a book first. How many of you have it pre-ordered?
You lucky dogs. :)
As much as I would like to have it pre-ordered, I will most likely be the girl who waits until the hype has settled and the book is paperback and priced a reasonable fifteen dollars. :) I have heard a lot of people mention how Paolini has taken ideas from other great writers like Tolkien and C. S. Lewis and turned them into his own. Honestly, I beg to differ. Paolini twists his plots too creatively to be copying someone before him, and he has elegantly created a world of his own. I would contend that the "best" ideas are inspired by other "best" ideas and I can see how Paolini has been inspired by other great writers, but he is definitely not a copycat. He is a writer that can stand on his own two feet and I believe he does that admirably well.

So! Go out and grab yourself a copy, of all the books! They are a great read. :)

Pillowcase #2 Elegant Italian Flare

Hello everyone! I have been really busy lately, working on all sorts of crafts and reading all sorts of books. :) Here is just one of my projects, which was a gift for my friend's wedding.
For such a complex and elegant look the number of stitches was surprisingly small. I did padded satin stitch, stem stitch, and running stitch. It did, however, take a long time to make, mostly due to the padded satin stitch. :)
What projects have you been working on lately?
