Beaded Beauty Color Number Two

Happy Thanksgiving!

I finally made it to my second color-gold-on my beaded rose! This accomplishment is mostly due to the fact that I got a different needle. :) This new, life-saving needle is much sturdier then the last one!

Here is a close up. :)

As Christmas draws near I am reminded of how much I love the Holiday Season! I enjoy giving gifts and making crafts, and this is the best time of the year to snuggle up in a blanket and work on a project.

How are your projects going?

Oh, here's an afterthought. :) I might be doing Etsy sometime soon! I'll post a link if it works out!

Card Ornament Tip

Oh! If you decide to do this project here is a tip. When you glue the sections together you can hold them in place using clothes pins. (The kind that open and close) That helps when you are trying to get the edges all lined up. :)

Holiday Card Ornament

Good evening!

I found a great project last year for Christmas presents! Do you have old Christmas cards lying around that you will never use? Then this is the project for you! It is an ornament made of Christmas (or whatever other cards you have lying around) cards that is really gorgeous. You can find it on Martha Stewart's website. Just search "Holiday Card Ornament" and it should be the first thing that comes up. Here are some pictures to kind of show you the process.

My "semi-equilateral triangle" :)

Me lining up my scored and folded circles in an attractive manner.

These are some of the cards I used. I bought some this year so that my colors coordinated. That funky round thing is the top of my first ornament. :)

An attractive shot of my circles-and the light above the table...:)

I gave two of these as gifts last year, and the people I gave them to loved them! I will post some pictures of the final products when I get a chance. The gold glitter in these cards might show up in the ribbon I choose to hang them with! :)

Pompoms Galore

Have you all seen this new pompom yarn that has come out? It is so cool to knit with! I am making a purple-toned scarf out of it. The yarn inbetween each pompom is not even visible in the end product because the pompoms pile up on each other. When it is done it will be a big soft scarf!

Beaded Bag

Do you remember the roses that I posted a few days ago? Well I am happy and very pround to say that I have put five beads on so far! :) I have decided I like beading. The only thing I wish was different was the needle. It is so extremely flimsy. I poke it at the fabric in the place I want it to go and it comes up somewhere else!
Anyway, I'll post some pictures when I finish some more. :)

Crafty Bag 2

Hello Everyone!

I went through some of our fabrics to see if I could find a lining for the green bag and pocketbook. Here is what I came up with.
I am thinking of using the pink polkadot. It is really fun. What do you think?

Beaded Beauty

I have discovered a new art form! In my needlework class this month we learned about beading, and I am hoping to make a cute purse, tissue holder, and key fob as a Christmas present! The design on the purse is a single rose:

And the design on the tissue holder is two roses:
I am going to bead the flowers in amber, gold, and silver tones, to match my giftee's style. :)

I'll post some more as I continue to figure out this beading thing!

Crafty Bag

Hello Everyone!

I am working on Christmas presents (Can you believe it? Already?) and I came across a pattern I made a couple of years ago. It is a crotcheted market bag that you make with 100% cotton yarn. I decided to make some as gifts, line them, and make a matching pocket book! Here is what I have so far.
One down! Two pocketbooks and a bag to go!

Here is the colors of the second one. You can get the pattern for free on Lion Brand Yarns, and all you need is a size "I" needle.
Isn't this a pretty color?

I will post more pictures as I complete the projects!

Have a great day!
